The United States has been well ahead of other countries in the pharmaceutical market on May 31. According to the statistics, the us pharmaceutical market was $4506.0 billion in 2016, up 6.0% year on year (see chart 1). 

 

 

 

In 2016, the pharmaceutical market in China surpassed Japan as the world's second largest medical market, with $802.5 billion. By floating exchange rates and fixed exchange rates, they were up 1.0 percent and 8.0% respectively. 

 

Japan, Germany and France are the third, fourth and fifth largest pharmaceutical markets in the world. The 10 countries leading the pharmaceutical market account for nearly 80 percent of the global pharmaceutical market ($8,01.42 billion / $10,09.08 billion).

The third is clopidogrel, which is 1.86 billion yuan, or 1.1 percent. The fourth one was a single sialic acid tetrasulin injection, which was 18.100 million yuan, or 1.1 percent. But the gap is large compared with the U.S., where the drug market is 5.6 times larger than the U.S.
